Vintage Wrap Up 2021

Over the last few months, Rutherglen has been bustling, with trucks coming and going, delivering flavoursome ripe Rutherglen grapes. Our winemaker, David has been working tirelessly along with the help of our entire Morris of Rutherglen vintage staff to ensure a safe, happy and abundant harvest season. And as quick as it seemed to arrive, it reached completion. Read the full report from David below.

Vintage 2021 started ten days later than usual, due to a relatively mild growing season. However, the cooler than average temperatures throughout the harvest period gave us an even spread of grape intake.

While yields were reduced at Morris of Rutherglen, grapes for the 2021 Vintage were sourced from our local Rutherglen growers and vineyards.

The highlight of the vintage would be our dry reds, with both the Shiraz and Durif looking good.
